Rune Grove is a cozy fantasy Minesweeper adventure you can play in your browser. Read the clues, choose your battles, and uncover a forest full of cheerful monsters.

A different kind of Minesweeper

Each number is the sum of nearby monster levels. Fighting costs health equal to a monster's level. Tap its fallen body to collect XP and update the surrounding clues. When you have enough XP, level up to grow stronger and fully heal. A forbidden rune adds 100 to nearby clues: mark it safely, but never touch it.

How to win

• Reveal every safe tile.

• Correctly mark any remaining covered monsters with their level, and forbidden runes with 100.

• Collect all defeated monsters' XP.

You do not have to defeat every monster. Careful deduction can finish what combat cannot.

Inside the grove

• Three freely selectable difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard.

• Nine monster types, with a consistent creature for each level from 1 to 9.

• Random boards, discoverable potions, and a free starting compass.

• Eight achievements, optional helpers, win/loss statistics and personal best times.

• Continue an unfinished adventure or start a fresh board at any difficulty.

• English and Simplified Chinese; separate music and sound controls.
